PowerPoint

Today in class we took notes on an Ancient Greece PowerPoint. We didn't do all of the PowerPoint, we mostly learned about the geography of Greece. Greece had many mountains, actually 3/4 of Greece is covered by mountains. Greece is also a peninsula surrounded by water. This makes trade easier because they could sail. There was about 2,000 islands in the Ionian and Aegean Sea. This required many skilled sailors and shipbuilders. The temperatures of Greece provided good weather for farming, but only 20% of Greece was farmable. Another thing we learned about was the separation between the communities. Unlike the U.S., where we consider ourselves as united Americans no matter what state we live in, the Greeks did not. Spartans would consider themselves Spartans more than Greeks. This left Greek divided among the communities and hard to unite. We also looked at maps and had to identify which where the places were because it would be on our test. We practiced identifying the Aegean Sea, Ionia Sea, Adriatic Sea, Peloponnesus, Athens, Sparta, Crete, Asia Minor, and Macedonia.

Temple of Apollo and Temple of Artemis

Today is the last day before Spring Break! Today we were assigned to find two images of Greek architecture and explain them. The first image I found was the Temple of Apollo: The temple of Apollo was built in the 7th c. B.C. in Delphi, Greece. It was a very big temple, but as you can see in the picture  is  was  destroyed many times over the years.  It was built by Trophonios and Agamedes, two legendary architects. The temple was built and named after the god of  archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more. It is known as the  religious  sanctuary sacred to honor Apollo.  The next greek architecture I found was the Temple of Artemis:   Both of these pictures are of the Temple of Artemis, but the first one is what people beige it looked like from ancient days, and the second picture is what is left of it now. The temple was built in the 6th century B.C. and is located in the western coast of the Asia Minor, now a Turkey.

Essay topic idea and five paragraph description for test

Today we were assigned to create an essay topic and give details about how we would write it by paragraph.  Topic: Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle teaching methods and impacts  The first paragraph would introduce who Socrates is, his life, and how he died. The next paragraph would explain the Socratic method, what it involved, and why it was unique. The next paragraph would talk about Plato, how he continued Socrates teachings, and what his thoughts and opinions were about the world. The next paragraph would talk about Aristotle and how he continued Plato's teachings (who were also Socrates teachings). The final paragraph would summarize the impact they all had on the world and how we think today.

Thought about cyber school

I have lost count of the number of cyber days, but today we were assigned to write a thoughtful blog about integrity, new responsibilities, how this affects others, and how we handle this situation. Like what was said in the assignment, this is a new experience for all of us. For some it might be hard to adapt to the situation, for others it might be easier. We are all handling this differently. I think we need to consider everyone involved. From my experiences so far, in the two weeks of cyber school, I can say that I do get frustrated because of the workload that I get somedays. I admit that I find myself trying to find shortcuts to finish earlier sometimes, but most times I actually put a lot of effort in my work. I actually get homework that I have to submit every day, except d and h days, for dance. It is different things like filming we do certain workouts or following along in an online class.
